1. What if I do not want to stay in
my vehicle as the oil is being changed?
Although for safety concerns, customers are encouraged
to stay in their vehicles as the service is being provided,
we do offer a waiting area for those who would prefer
to get out of their cars.

2. What if I bring
my own oil for you to use in my vehicle?
We suggest all Castrol products, however we will be
glad to use the oil and filter that you supply. We will deduct $5.00 from any of our Prime Shine Lube packages when you supply both the oil and filter.

3. What type of
oil filters and air filters do you use?
Both our oil filters and air filters are Warner brand.
Warner is manufactured by Champion Laboratories which
is an OE Builder for Ford, GM and Chrysler as well as
a private label supplier for Valvoline, Bosch, STP,
Lee, Shell, and Atlas companies.

4. What type of
oil do you feature?
We feature the high quality oils from Castrol Motor
Oil. Castrol, a 100 year old company, is the world's
largest specialist in the production and marketing of
lubricants.

5. What bottled
oil do you have?
In addition to Castrol products we keep Pennzoil, Quaker
State, and Valvoline in 10w30 and 5w30. We also carry
Chevron's Delo for diesels and Mobil One's synthetic
oil. Let us know of a particular brand you would prefer
and we will consider stocking.

6. What is synthetic
oil?
Traditional oils are all derived from crude oil. Even
after this oil has been refined it still contains some
contaminates. It is these contaminates that cause regular
oil to thicken in cold weather, and to thin out in hot
conditions. Cold thick oil (not flowing fast enough)
causes wear on your engine in start-up; and we know
that most of your engines' wear comes at start-up. In
hot conditions, regular oil gets thinner and thinner
oil just does not carry away heat as easily.
Engines are designed to run under these conditions with
regular, scheduled oil changes. By changing your oil
as the manual recommends, your vehicles' engine should
live a long life.
Synthetic oil is made up of Polyalphaolefins usually
derived from natural gas and a combination of alcohols
and acids. Like traditional oils, it too contains additives
to enhance its capabilities. Being made this way encourages
Synthetic oil to stay thinner in the cold, and thicker
in the heat. This allows it to pump throughout the engine
faster in cold weather, and to carry away a little more
heat from the engine in hotter temperatures. It is these
attributes of synthetic oil that many experts feel will
give you engine better protection, contributing to an
even longer engine life.

7. Do you service
R.V.s? What is the price to have my R.V.s fluid exchanged?
Yes, R.V.s are serviced. This service is $79.95. Please
check with manager to make an appointment for this service.

8. Why should
I change my oil?
Motor oil gets contaminated by substances like dust
metallic shavings and even antifreeze. As these contaminants
are whipped into the oil, sludge is formed. This sludge
will stick to parts of the engine causing the engine
to perform less efficiently. Eventually, this sludge
can cause engine failure. Thus, the best preventative
maintenance to extend the life expectancy of your car
is to maintain a regular oil change schedule.

9. Why should
I keep my tires inflated properly?
Under inflated tires make the engine work harder and
use more gas, wearing out the two outer edges of the
tire and causing greater frictional contact with the
road. Over inflated tires make the center of the tread-contact-patch
bulge and the center of the tire tread pattern will
wear out from higher frictional contact, before the
outer two edges. Vehicles can add about 5% to gas mileage
be keeping tires properly inflated.

10. Why should
I change my gearbox lubricants (transfer case/differentials)?
Gearboxes such as differentials and transfer cases perform
best when operating in a pool of oil. Normal use of
the vehicle will subject these fluids to high temperatures,
which break down the fluid, causing it to become gummy.
Once gummy, the oil loses its ability to lubricate properly
which can cause abnormal wear on gear. In addition,
if these fluids get too low bare metal contact can cause
premature wear.

11. Why should
I change my air filter?
Your engine's air filter captures airborne contaminants,
like bugs and dirt, out of the air before they enter
your engine. Left unchanged, dirty air filters can lead
to poor acceleration, lower gas mileage and poor engine
performance. The positive crankcase valve and breather
element process exhaust fumes to reduce air pollutants.
Changing PCV valves and breather elements help the air
filtration system do its job effectively. All three
items should be changed approximately every 9000 miles.

12.
What type of oil do you recommend?
We recommend all Castrol products for maximum protection.
We will consult Chek-Chart to see if the manufacturers
suggest a particular brand of oil for your vehicle.

13. Why should
I use the Heartland oil systems cleaner?
Today's engines generate a harmful bi-product called
sludge. This sludge gets trapped inside your engine
and decreases its performance. The oil systems cleaner
contains a special combination of oil and a safe solvent.
This formula gently dissolves soft sludge so it can
be drained away with your oil change. This gives your
fresh oil a fresh start, so that it can do the job that
it was designed to do.

14. Why should
I use the Heartland 4X engine treatment?
The 4X treatment is the pinnacle of protection. It provides
a consistent, highly stable level of protection for
your engine that a typical once a year treatment cannot.
