2. Is washing
my car at Prime Shine safe for the environment?
Yes, for several reasons. Whereas home washers send
wastewater down the city storm drains that lead to streams
and drywells, Prime Shine's wastewater is sent directly
to the local municipalities sewer system. This ensures
that any pollutants washed off the vehicles are treated
properly.
In addition, Prime Shine was very careful when choosing
soaps. Only soaps that are biodegradable will be used.
and in addition all our polishes and sealers are oil-free.
Washing at Prime Shine saves water. A 10-minute car
wash at home can use as much as 140 gallons of water.
A Prime Shine wash uses approximately 30 gallons of
fresh water per vehicle. This substantial savings is
achieved through its massive recycling systems. Almost
every drop of fresh water that Prime Shine uses is captured
in large concrete tanks running beneath the vehicles
and stored for potential reuse. In fact, because of
these and other "green" sensitive items included
into our building design, Prime Shine was recognized
by the City of Modesto as an environmentally friendly
company to do business with.

3. What if I want
to upgrade my Prime Shine pass?
The coupon you were given is for the Prime Shine valued at $6.00. If you would like you can upgrade your wash when you hand the coupon to the wash tech. Upgrading to the Platinum would cost an additional $2.00. Upgrading to the Protex would cost an additional $4.00.
4.
How often should I wash my car at Prime Shine?
It depends. Personal preference, where you drive your
vehicle, and where you store your vehicles are just
a few of the variables that you must take into consideration.
The International Car Wash Association recommends that
if your vehicle is subjected to contaminants such as
pesticides, sand, salt, and industrial fallout that
the vehicle be washed weekly to protect your vehicle's
delicate finish. In seasons or climates where there
are less harmful elements a wash every two weeks should
be sufficient.

5. How often should
I get the Platinum or Protex Wash?
The Platinum wash includes a double application of our Ultra Polish and the Clearcoat Shield which is a sealer designed to protect today's vehicles clear coats. The Protex is a Platinum wash that also includes an application of RAIN – X total surface protectant. We recommend that you use one of these products at least every 4 washes for ultimate protection and shine.

8. Do you have
a car wash program to help non-profits raise money?
Yes. Our Fund Raising Program is a great way for motivated groups to earn money for uniforms or that special trip. We issue your organization express car wash passes that you go out and sell. Tickets never expire and can be used on any vehicle. Prime Shine charges your group based on the amount of tickets sold. The more tickets you sell the less we charge per ticket. Once tickets are sold, Prime Shine handles the dirty work. Your group doesn't have to worry about messy buckets of soap and water, hoses, or how to dry the towels. This sure beats standing on the corner all weekend yelling…"car wash!" Give the corporate office a call if your group is interested.

9. How do you
create the spot-free water?
Prime Shine uses a system called Reverse Osmosis to
make its spot free water. With this system highly pressurized
water is pushed through semi-permeable plastic membranes
that trap solids such as calcium and magnesium. It is
these naturally occurring solids that cause the white
crusty spots on your vehicle if left to dry on its own
when you wash your car at home. Prior to being pushed
through the membranes water travels through a commercial
grade water softener and a carbon filter to remove chlorine
and oxidizing agents that will cause harm to the very
sensitive membranes. After the water has traveled through
the R.O. system it is stored in a 10,000 gallon tank
under the driveway and sprayed on your car as it goes
through.

11. Is Prime Shine
Express a franchise?
No. Prime Shine is a privately owned and operated corporation.
Its name and logo are protected under federal laws.
Norm Porges, owner of Prime Shine, had a vision in 1991
to change the way consumers thought about car washing.
Norm's vision combined with a very talented collection
of professionals such as architects, graphic designers,
builders, real estate agents, bankers, lawyers and equipment
suppliers are all responsible for the evolution of Prime
Shine Express. At this point the company has chosen
not to franchise its look and concept but may consider
this option in the future.
